Platform comparison
Hack2Hire vs Educative
Educative is a course platform: use it to learn a subject from the ground up, in structured lessons you read and run in the browser. Hack2Hire is the step after that — a bank of questions candidates reported from real interviews at named companies, each one human-reviewed and published with its interview round, its last-reported date, test cases, and solutions in four languages.
Verified on October 18, 2026 against both platforms' public pages. Features and prices change; the sources below are listed so you can re-check them.
Hack2Hire vs Educative, point by point
| Dimension | Hack2Hire | Educative |
|---|---|---|
| What you are buying | Access to reported interview questions, indexed by company and interview round, with reviewed solutions attached. | Access to a library of several hundred interactive courses spanning system design, generative AI, web development, machine learning and interview preparation. |
| How the material is organised | By company first. A company page lists the questions reported for it, each with difficulty, round and the date it was last reported. | By subject and course. You work through a curriculum from first principles rather than from a particular employer's recent loop. |
| Where the interview content comes from | Candidate reports aggregated from public interview-experience sources, then selected and checked by a human reviewer with AI cross-checking before publication. | Courses authored and maintained by the platform and its instructors, presented as expert-developed curriculum. |
| Practising code | Solve each question in the browser against its test cases, with reference solutions in four languages and complexity analysis. | Lessons are interactive and include in-browser compilers and coding challenges as part of the course flow. |
| Knowing whether material is current | Each question shows when it was most recently reported, so you can judge the freshness yourself. | Courses are maintained over time; currency is a property of the curriculum rather than something stated per question. |
| Credentials | No certificates; the output is practice and reviewed solutions. | Certificates are offered on course completion. |
Choose Educative when
- You want to learn a subject properly — distributed systems, generative AI, a new language — rather than drill a company's questions.
- You prefer reading structured lessons to solving problems cold, and want a syllabus someone else sequenced.
- A completion certificate is worth something to you.
Choose Hack2Hire when
- You already know the material and need to know what a specific company has actually been asking.
- You want the interview round and the last-reported date attached to every question, so you can prioritise.
- You want reviewed solutions in four languages and test cases to check your own against.
Questions people ask
Is Educative a competitor to Hack2Hire?
Only partly. Educative's interview-prep courses overlap with our system design and ML system design material, but its core is a broad course library and ours is a company-indexed question bank. Many candidates would reasonably use a course platform to learn and a question bank to prepare for a named loop.
Which is better for system design interviews?
For learning system design from the ground up, a structured course is the better format, and Educative is built around that. For seeing which design problems a particular company has been handing candidates, that is what our company pages are organised around. The two answer different questions.
Does Hack2Hire teach fundamentals?
We publish tutorials and courses for system design and machine learning system design, and every question ships with a worked solution and complexity analysis. But the question bank assumes you have done the groundwork somewhere; it is built for the stage after that.
