Terms of Service
Introduction
By accessing and using our website and services ("Hack2hire"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). These Terms, which also incorporate our Privacy Policy, apply to all users. If you are using Hack2hire on behalf of a university or another legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use Hack2hire.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Hack2hire signifies your acceptance of these Terms and any revisions.
Use of Services
To use Hack2hire’s services, you may need to register for an account. You agree that the information you provide is accurate and current, and you must be at least 18 years old (or legally emancipated) in your jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for all activity under your account.
You may create an account via third-party services (e.g., Google or Facebook). By doing so, you agree to comply with those third-party terms as well as Hack2hire’s Privacy Policy.
You agree to use Hack2hire only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
Accounts, Security & Suspension
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access or use of your account.
- No account sharing. Unless explicitly permitted in writing, your account is for your individual use only. You may not share, transfer, or permit others to access your account.
- No resale. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or otherwise monetize access to Hack2hire (including your account, login credentials, or subscription benefits) without our prior written consent.
- Right to suspend or terminate. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to the Services (and remove content) if we believe, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms, engaged in inappropriate or abusive usage, or created risk or potential legal exposure for Hack2hire or others.
User Content
Hack2hire may display content provided by users or third parties ("Content"), including reviews, comments, photos, logos, employer profiles, and other materials. While we strive for quality, we do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or appropriateness of any Content and are not responsible for any harm resulting from it.
You are solely responsible for any content ("User Content") you submit or authorize for use on Hack2hire. You retain ownership of your User Content, but by submitting it, you grant Hack2hire a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, fully-paid license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and create derivative works of your content in any media now known or later developed.
Additionally, Hack2hire may share your User Content with trusted third parties for feedback or service delivery, consistent with our privacy policies. No compensation is provided for content you submit.
Intellectual Property & Copyright
Except for User Content you submit, Hack2hire and its licensors own all right, title, and interest in and to the Services, including all software, design, text, graphics, logos, and other materials (collectively, “Hack2hire Content”). Hack2hire Content is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- Limited license. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
- No copying or reposting. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, publicly display, scrape, or create derivative works of Hack2hire Content (including posting copies elsewhere) unless you have our prior written permission or the content is explicitly made available for such use.
- Copyright complaints. If you believe content on Hack2hire infringes your copyright, please contact us with sufficient detail to locate the material and verify your rights. We may remove or restrict access to the claimed infringing material and take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.
Prohibited Conduct
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
- Create accounts under false pretenses or for anyone other than yourself.
- Post content you do not own or have permission to share.
- Publish defamatory, misleading, or fraudulent content.
- Engage in harassment, abuse, or objectionable behavior.
- Promote or support illegal activities.
- Disclose confidential or proprietary information unlawfully.
- Violate intellectual property or proprietary rights of others.
- Post pornographic or sexually explicit content, or exploit others.
- Imply a partnership or endorsement by Hack2hire without permission.
- Send spam or violate anti-spam laws.
- Use automated agents to create accounts, send messages, or scrape data.
- Frame, mirror, or deep-link Hack2hire without our express consent.
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of Hack2hire content without permission.
- Use Hack2hire’s information for competitive purposes.
- Sell, rent, or monetize access to Hack2hire without our written consent.
- Disrupt or interfere with Hack2hire’s functionality or security.
- Introduce malware or attempt to bypass security measures.
Third-Party Links and Services
Hack2hire may include links to third-party websites for your convenience. We do not control these sites and our terms do not apply to them. Their inclusion does not imply endorsement, and you access them at your own risk.
Referrals & Credits
Hack2hire may offer referral programs and promotional credits (“Credits”) from time to time. Participation is optional and subject to these Terms and any additional program rules we publish in-product.
- Eligibility & limits. We may set eligibility requirements, limits on the number of referrals/credits you can earn, and other restrictions (including per account, per person, per payment method, or per household).
- Subscription-only use. Credits may be used only to reduce the amount due for Hack2hire subscription payments (e.g., your next subscription charge) and cannot be applied to non-subscription purchases unless explicitly stated.
- No cash value. Credits are not real money, have no cash value, and are not redeemable for cash, refunds, gift cards, or transfers. Credits cannot be sold, resold, exchanged, or bartered.
- Non-transferable. Credits are personal to your account and may not be transferred to another user or account.
- How credits apply. Unless otherwise stated, Credits may auto-apply at checkout or on your next subscription payment when eligible. If a subscription charge is less than the available Credits, the remaining Credits may carry forward, subject to any limits or expiration.
- Expiration. Credits may expire as described in-product or in program rules. If no expiration is stated, we may still expire unused Credits upon reasonable notice, to the extent permitted by law.
- Abuse & fraud. We may suspend, revoke, or adjust Credits (and suspend or terminate accounts) if we believe, in our sole discretion, that a referral, credit, or account activity is fraudulent, abusive, manipulative, or otherwise violates these Terms (including self-referrals, fake accounts, or attempts to game the system).
- Cancellations & refunds. If a subscription payment that used Credits is refunded, reversed, charged back, or otherwise cancelled, we may deduct the used Credits from your account and/or void related referral rewards, to the extent permitted by law.
- Taxes. You are responsible for any taxes that may apply to referral rewards or Credits, if applicable.
- Changes or termination. We may modify, suspend, or terminate any referral program or Credits at any time, including changing earn rates, limits, eligibility, and expiration, with or without notice where permitted by law.
Enforcement by Hack2hire
Hack2hire reserves the right to review, edit, or remove any content that violates these Terms or our policies. We may suspend or terminate your account or take other appropriate actions, including notifying law enforcement, if necessary.
Refund Policy
All purchases made on Hack2hire are generally non-refundable. However, we may issue refunds at our sole discretion in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate charges. If you were charged more than once for the same subscription period due to a technical error, we will refund the duplicate charge.
- Unauthorized charges. If you believe a charge was made without your authorization, please contact us promptly so we can investigate.
Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the charge by contacting our support team through the website. We will review each request on a case-by-case basis. Approved refunds will be credited to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Cancelling your subscription does not automatically entitle you to a refund for the remaining unused portion of the period.
Dispute Resolution
All disputes arising from or related to these Terms or Hack2hire shall be resolved through binding arbitration. You agree to waive your right to participate in class actions or jury trials.
