Platform comparison
Hack2Hire vs NeetCode
Work the NeetCode roadmap while you are still building pattern recognition — it is ordered teaching with video explanations, and that is the right format for learning. Switch to Hack2Hire once the patterns are solid and the question becomes which problems your target company has actually been handing candidates.

Hack2Hire vs NeetCode, point by point
| Dimension | Hack2Hire | NeetCode |
|---|---|---|
| Organising principle | Company and interview round. You start from the employer you are interviewing with. | A topic roadmap — arrays and hashing, two pointers, stack, trees, graphs, dynamic programming and so on — ordered so each topic builds on the last. |
| Teaching format | A written solution per question, in four languages, with complexity analysis and follow-up notes. | Video explanations alongside the practice problems, plus separate courses. The site states 1,000+ practice problems with video explanations. |
| Where the questions come from | Candidate reports about specific companies, selected and reviewed before publication, each dated. | A curated problem set chosen to teach the patterns that interviews draw on, sequenced for learning rather than tied to a particular employer's recent loop. |
| Knowing what a company asks | This is the product: company pages list reported questions with round, difficulty and last-reported date. | Not what the roadmap is for; it prepares you for the category of question rather than for one employer's list. |
| Beyond coding | System design and ML system design tutorials and questions. | Courses beyond the core roadmap, plus a Versus mode for competitive practice against other users. |
Choose NeetCode when
- You are still learning the patterns and want someone to put them in the right order for you.
- You learn better from a video walkthrough than from a written solution.
- You want a free tier to work through before paying for anything.
Choose Hack2Hire when
- You can already solve a medium unaided and the remaining question is which problems your target company asks.
- You want the interview round and last-reported date on every question so you can prioritise a short run-up.
- Your loop includes system design or ML system design.
Questions people ask
Should I do NeetCode first and Hack2Hire after?
For most people that is the sensible order, and we would say so even though it means starting elsewhere. A company-specific question bank is wasted on someone who is still learning two pointers; it earns its keep in the weeks before a scheduled loop.
Does NeetCode cover company-specific questions?
Its public positioning is the topic roadmap, courses and practice problems rather than per-company reported questions. If company coverage is what you need, check its current site yourself — we only describe what is on it, and we checked on the date below.
Is one of these enough on its own?
NeetCode alone is enough to get interview-ready in general. Neither is enough to tell you everything about a specific loop: for that, read first-hand candidate reports as well, which is a case we make on our own sources page.
