HRT algo dev phone screen, rejected
OA was CodeSignal, 45 min, 2 problems. Not leetcode, more C++ fundamentals type stuff honestly.
Phone screen was the watcher problem. 1D line, players moving right, watcher blocks anyone it's looking at, direction reverses at given timestamps, count how many players reach the end by time T. Interviewer just read it out loud, no shared doc, had to take notes myself as he talked. Kinda threw me off since I walked in expecting trivia questions, not a full simulation problem.
Got the brute force version working. Ran out of time cleaning up edge cases around the reversal timestamps and never got to the continuous follow up.
Interviewer was patient about it, just didn't have enough time left. Rejected two days later. Not standard LC at all, way more implementation heavy than I expected going in.

oral problem delivery is rough ngl, always end up missing some detail when they read it out loud like that
the mid day onsite cut is brutal from what I've heard, sounds like you didn't even get that far though
