Rippling wants you to bring an AI tool into the phone screen now. Cursor + Claude, or Gemini if you want it faster. Opt out and you're held to the same bar anyway, minus the help.
Three part problems, and the AI users are expected to actually finish all three.
Feels like where interviews are headed tbh. Anyone seeing this outside Rippling yet?

kind of prefer it tbh, more realistic to how we actually work now
yeah CoderPad rounds are moving this direction too, saw it mentioned in a few debriefs
good to know it's not just Rippling then
curious how they even grade this consistently across candidates
opt out sounds like a trap if the bar doesn't actually change
that was my read too, feels like a soft requirement dressed up as optional
sounds like a nightmare if your AI tool lags or hallucinates mid interview
