Robinhood rejected me after the deep dive, still salty about it

Just got the reject email from Robinhood after the full onsite loop, four rounds total, and yeah still annoyed.

Coding round was Maximum Multiplier Path, graph traversal problem, nothing too crazy and I got through it clean. Both system design rounds were state machine flavored, felt close to Job Scheduler with different names slapped on. Interviewers were chill on those and gave me room to think out loud.

Then the project deep dive happened and it went sideways. Interviewer spent close to forty five minutes drilling into decisions I'd made on a project from two years ago, no coding, no design, just nonstop follow ups. Felt more like a deposition than an interview honestly.

Got the reject a few days later, generic template, zero real feedback. Wild that you can get filtered on a slide deck about something you already shipped successfully.

Robinhood deep dive is no joke, sorry that happened. Feels like it gets more scrutiny than the actual coding round these days.

Same happened to me somewhere else, got grilled on a two year old project for like 40 minutes straight. Felt more like an audit than an interview.

Wait so the whole round was just follow up questions, no coding or design mixed in at all? That sounds intense.

Yeah literally just questions the whole time. No whiteboard, no code, just him poking at every decision I made.

I've seen mixed experiences with that round, some people said their interviewer was pretty chill. Guess it really depends on who you get.
