xAI loop so far, 4 rounds in, still waiting to hear back
Wanted to share how xAI's process has gone, couldn't find much on the later rounds elsewhere, still pending after round 4.
Recruiter call was 15 minutes on background and clearance eligibility. Next was the 15 minute tech lead screen, a deep dive on my most recent project and what was hardest.
Coding round was on CoderPad, debug style, given failing unit tests and had to find the bugs myself. Exception handling on edge cases is where I lost time.
Last round was a project deep dive plus a quick tensor ops question, implementing part of a matmul from a partial starter.
No word yet, anyone know typical turnaround after this stage?

How long between the coding round and getting scheduled for round 4?
About a week, recruiter said team was reassigning people around so that probably added the delay.
xAI comms have been all over the place from what I've seen, wouldn't read too much into the silence yet.
Was the tensor ops part hard or more just tedious to implement?
I got something similar, more about understanding the all-gather step than raw difficulty honestly.
