Meta HC reject after everything felt fine, shocking absolutely no one
Went through the full E5 loop. Two coding rounds, one of them the AI enabled maze thing everyone talks about, doors and keys and directional cells, whatever. I drove the approach myself and let the AI fill in the implementation, debugged the last two test cases with a few minutes left. System design was Instagram live comments, real time updates and celebrity edge cases, standard stuff if you've prepped it.
Behavioral was fine too. Told my ambiguity story, my conflict story, the usual lineup. Recruiter said feedback was good and it was going to Hiring Committee.
Then nothing for a week and a rejection with zero explanation. No idea what HC even looks at if coding and SD and BQ all land and it's still a no. Feels like a quota thing honestly, like the interviewer already had their headcount picked before I even showed up.
Whatever, moving on. Their loss for making me sit through 5 rounds just to get templated.

Meta HC is honestly a black box, don't overthink it
Which maze variant did you get? Curious if it's the same doors and keys one I saw.
Yeah doors and keys plus some directional cell twist, took forever to debug with the AI output.
HC reject after good feedback happens way more than people admit.
For real, feels like a lottery at that point no matter how the rounds go.
Sorry man that's brutal after clearing everything.
