Verkada onsite, still processing how it went
Verkada onsite, still processing how it went
Recruiter cold messaged me on LinkedIn a few weeks back, wasn't even looking but the pitch sounded interesting. Flew to San Mateo for the onsite, 4 rounds in one day.
Coding was the motion detection variant, find alert intervals where a value crosses a threshold across multiple cameras, basically merge intervals with a twist. Pair programming was a DB schema design, felt collaborative rather than adversarial. System design covered access control, admin visibility across nested camera groups, took some back and forth to get right.
Genuinely can't tell if I did enough. Anyone know how strict they are about finishing both SD problems in one round?

Congrats on getting to onsite, the cold LinkedIn outreach is wild but seems common there.
Yeah the cold outreach approach seems to be a pattern with them lately.
How was the vibe with the pair programming interviewer? Heard that round can go either way.
Honestly really chill, felt more like working with a teammate than an interview.
Good luck, sounds like a solid day of rounds.
