Rough, sorry man. The CICD phone screen thing threw me off too when I went through it, wasn't expecting that combo.
This tracks with what I've heard, the SD rounds seem to want a fairly specific structure lately.
How long total from onsite to the rejection email?
About two weeks, no real explanation in the email either.

Did they ask about idempotent retries specifically or was it more general failure handling? Curious what the follow ups looked like.
I got a similar round a while back, mostly ledger consistency and how to avoid double charging on retries. Felt pretty deep for a single round.

Had something similar happen with the payment SD, felt like the interviewer had one specific diagram in their head and anything else just got redirected.
Yeah that matches my read too. Kept getting steered back to the same follow up no matter how I framed it.
