Left Amazon for a better job and now I miss the ownership
Six months out from Amazon and still processing this. Went to a company with way better WLB, way less stress, and honestly I'm bored out of my mind. At Amazon I owned my service end to end, fought for headcount, and actually felt the impact when something broke at 2am. Here everyone's scope is so diluted nobody really owns anything, we just sit in meetings about who owns what. Reorgs and TT reviews were brutal, not romanticizing that part. But is it normal to miss the chaos more than the paycheck bump? Anyone else regret leaving once the dust settled?

Diluted ownership is the biggest complaint I hear from ex Amazon folks. Everyone wants credit but nobody wants the pager.
The pager duty alone was enough for me to never look back lol.
Feels like rose tinted glasses tbh. You're forgetting the reorgs and stack ranking stress that made you want to leave in the first place.
Fair, I'm not saying I want the TT anxiety back. Just weird missing the intensity.
Real. People always romanticize the chaos once they're out of it.
Same thing happened to me after I left for a startup. Ownership just hits different when it's your neck on the line at 2am.
