Got a sliding window problem in my MAI screen too, different variant though. Mine was about max sum in a subarray of size k. Seems like they like window problems for screens.

What's the timeline like after the phone screen? Did they say when to expect a decision?

Recruiter said 1-2 weeks but I've seen posts saying it can drag. I'm at day 5 right now, nothing yet.

MAI screens are deceptively BQ-heavy. I spent 90% of my prep on coding and got caught off-guard by the behavioral depth. Good luck, hope it goes your way.

How deep did the BQ go on the cross-team question? Did he push on the outcome or more on your reasoning during the conflict?

Both tbh. He first wanted me to explain my reasoning step by step, then asked specifically what the outcome was and how I measured success afterwards. Felt like he had a rubric.

For the in-place follow-up, I think the idea they're fishing for is encoding the frequency info into the original array values using sign manipulation or something similar. Still not clean but it's the angle.
