Thanks for the detailed breakdown. How much time did you spend prepping specifically for Affirm's domain problems before the phone screen?

Probably 4-5 hours total. I read through the question types on hack2hire and traced through a few examples manually. The key thing is not to over-engineer. They penalize you for writing generic solutions when the problem has explicit constraints.

Congrats on the offer. What level are they bringing you in at and roughly what TC range? Trying to benchmark.

SDE2. TC is around 280k, mostly equity heavy. Still negotiating so might move a bit.

The loan hierarchy problem is definitely a known quantity at this point. Seen it mentioned a bunch. The edge case about a company being both a child and a parent is the one that gets people.

Did you get any feedback on the HM round afterward or just the offer decision? That round scares me the most tbh.

No round-by-round feedback, just the offer call. The recruiter mentioned all rounds went well but didn't give specifics. I think with the HM round you just have to stay concrete and avoid vague STAR answers. He seemed to want actual mechanics, not storytelling.

The silent SD interviewer thing is so real. Mine did the same. I had no idea if I was bombing or crushing it. Ended up passing so I think they just prefer listening over guiding.
