Perplexity phone screen - ToDo list, rejected Result: Rejected Number of Rounds: 1 ToDo list for AI problem in Python. 4 parts. Got through parts 1-2 (basic operations and dependency cascade DFS). Ran out of time on part 3. Rejection same day. Genuinely want to know how I can improve.

This problem is designed so you can't finish. The interviewer probably knows that too. Getting parts 1-2 solid is likely what they actually evaluate.

Part 3 is where most people run out of time. What held you up on parts 1-2?

The dependency cascade in part 2. Tracking both parents and children is easy to get wrong. Took me a while to debug.
