Snowflake phone screen - pending Result: Pending Number of Rounds: 1 Phone screen: event tracking system. Implement Receive(eventtype, timestamp) to record events (timestamps always increasing) and Count(eventtype, starttime, endtime) to query ranges. Data structure design. Hash map + sorted list. Got it working, discussed complexity. Interviewer seemed engaged but hard to read. Feedback comes in about 3 days according to recruiter. 4 YOE

Did they ask about the monotonic timestamp assumption specifically or just let you handle it how you wanted?

They mentioned it upfront so I could skip validation overhead. Simplified the implementation.

The event tracking problem with time-range queries is a good sign. It's in their question bank and manageable.
