Is Databricks still worth it or has the hype peaked?
Asking because I have an offer and keep getting mixed signals. Strong TC, interesting data infra work, but the interview felt suspicious. The question bank is small enough that I don't think the interviewers themselves could solve the questions otherwise. That's either a red flag or they just haven't refreshed it in years.
Pre-IPO equity is the obvious upside. The question is how long you wait and whether the valuation still makes sense after the lockup.
Anyone who took the offer: what's the day to day actually like?

the question bank thing is accurate but the onsite is genuinely hard from what I've heard. not just memorization
pre-ipo equity valuation is always the hard part. valuations can swing a lot before lockup
took the databricks offer last year. day to day is good, infra work is real. but the question bank thing is just... true
so it's worth it despite the suspicious interview process?

databricks is worth it imo. just don't count on the equity doing anything heroic
