Is Pinterest a good place to work as a software engineer?

Interview reports for this article focus on the hiring process rather than working conditions, so direct culture evidence is limited. What is documented: a Fully Remote work policy is reported across multiple accounts as a primary reason candidates chose Pinterest over higher-paying offers. WLB reputation and remote-first structure are the most consistently positive signals from candidates who accepted.

What is Pinterest's engineering culture like?

Reports describe a professional and friendly team environment, with Fully Remote as the defining structural feature. The interview process varies by team and role: MLE candidates on graph-adjacent teams encounter different evaluation criteria than those on recommendation or ads teams. Interviewer quality is generally described as professional, with outliers noted at a low frequency.

How hard is it to get a job at Pinterest?

The process runs 5 to 6 rounds depending on track, with a hiring committee review as a final gate. Rejection rates are high: most reported candidates did not receive offers, and rejection patterns include the behavioral round for SWE and the phone screen coding segment for MLE; additionally, a post-onsite extra round has preceded rejection rather than an offer in multiple accounts.

What is the hardest round in the Pinterest interview?

For SWE candidates, the behavioral round is the most reported unexpected rejection point despite being only 25 minutes long. For MLE candidates, the phone screen is the most commonly cited failure point: it combines 30 minutes of ML theory with 30 minutes of coding, and fast solvers receive additional problems rather than ending the session.
