Affirm rejection - solved it but too slow Result: Rejected Number of Rounds: 1 Offer redemption problem. Read a CSV of offer events via stdin, validate against date ranges and redemption limits, output available offers per user on a processing date. Problem is not hard. Reading it is the hard part. The description takes 15 minutes to parse correctly. Got it working but 7 minutes over time. Rejection same day: "too slow."

The reading time isn't factored into their expectations which is insane. 15 minutes of reading + 60 minutes of coding is not 60 minutes.

Yeah and the rejection said 'pace issues' not 'wrong answer.' Kind of implies they know you got it right.

7 minutes over on a problem you solved is brutal. That rejection reason is so demoralizing.

The offer redemption problem is in their question bank. Unfortunately knowing it ahead of time doesn't help much if you can't read-and-implement fast.
