Following up after a week is fine. Short email, just asking for a timeline update.
Did the SD interviewer just stare or was there any actual discussion?
Minimal discussion. Mostly just watched me write the schema. I genuinely have no idea if he understood what I was doing.
The uneven interviewer quality at Confluent comes up a lot. Some are genuinely great, some seem like they'd rather be somewhere else.
Yeah had the same thing happen. One round was genuinely collaborative, the next the interviewer checked out after 10 minutes.
For the temp email system. Did you go with bloom filter or just DB lookup for duplicate checking?
Both. Bloom filter as first pass, DB confirmation for the definitive check. Recruiter mentioned the question bank is small so I prepped this one specifically.
