Snowflake phone screen - not strong enough Result: Rejected Number of Rounds: 1 Got the closest cake problem. 2D grid, find minimum distance from each person to nearest cake. Multi-source BFS. Finished cleanly, no hints needed. Interviewer was weirdly rigid about my solution approach. Not wrong, just not the direction they wanted. Went back and forth a bit. Rejection a few days later. "Not strong enough." Hard to know what more they were looking for when the solution worked.

the 'not strong enough' thing is infuriating. did they even explain what was weak?

they never do. got the same rejection last year, just radio silence on details

the rigid interviewer thing is a pattern there. some of them really want one specific approach and won't accept anything else

BFS/graph problems are pretty consistent for Snowflake. at least you know what to expect
