what does 'close call' actually mean from the recruiter? reinterview in 6 months but no official rejection?

as far as I can tell yes. no rejection email, flagged for sooner reinterview. still technically pending I guess.

the immunity state machine is where people lose time. X to I transition with duration tracking is the tricky part

exactly. duration tracking fine in part 1 but part 2 adds the X state and the counter resets in a way that's easy to get wrong
