the hint thing affecting ratings is real and barely documented anywhere. did they tell you in the feedback or did you infer it?

feedback summary said 'needed guidance in round 1' which I took to mean hints were counted against me even though I solved it

what specifics did they push on for the caching SD? partitioning, consistency, or more client-side?

mostly consistency tradeoffs and node failure scenarios. I may have been too brief on cache invalidation policy

If you get any hint, it's a negative impact on your score. I was also rejected even though I came up with solutions because the interviewer gave me hints; This is a trap.

passed my onsite without hints but my googliness round was what pulled the score up. that round is underrated
